Okuku Country Estate is nestled amidst the North Canterbury foot hills of the Southern Alps, only 58 kilometres north from Christchurch City and a 40 minute drive from Christchurch International Airport.
This is an ideal location for a luxurious country stay with easy access to the Canterbury Ski Fields of Mt Hutt and Porter Heights, the thermal pools of Hanmer Springs, whale watching at Kaikoura, Waipara Wine Trails and the cultural delights of Christchurch city to name just a few.
Travel Directions
Travel on the northern motorway from Christchurch and exit at the Kaiapoi/Rangiora off-ramp. At Rangiora, turn left and immediately right (between Westpac and BNZ banks) and follow this road to Loburn - over the Ashley Bridge, past the Leigh Camp on your left, then the Loburn Reserve and Karakaas Cheese Factory on your right. Turn left into Hodgsons Road. Okuku Country Estate is AA sign-posted at this intersection along with a large sign (Note the road sign to Ashley Gorge, Oxford - do not travel to North Loburn). Follow Hodgsons Road for 18kms. You will pass the Loburn School on your left within 1km of turning off. (The road changes name to Fishers then Birch Hill Road.) Just past the turnoff to Mt. Thomas is a one-lane bridge over the Garry River. 100 meters past the Garry River turn left into Rakahuri Road. Okuku Country Estate is sign posted and is at the end of the gravel road. Allow 45 minutes travel time from Christchurch International Airport.
